What’s Sold September 2024 eBay Sales – Not a bad month. Bit late getting round to publishing this but let’s take a look shall we. A nice steady month – I guess I can thank the car boot sales for a lot of this. It is not very often I don’t find something good on a Saturday morning although charity shops too have been good.
I’m sure you will see what I mean and I hope you find this all useful.
What’s Sold September 2024 eBay Sales
I will start with something that wasn’t really a great sale but it sold fast enough.
20x SOLDIER: MAGAZINE OF THE BRITISH ARMY Bundle Issues Range From 2010 To 2016
Paid: £1.70
Sold For: £14.00 + £5.21 postage.
Profit: £12.30 minus fees
These were a bit of a fail for me. Although I only paid £1.70 for the lot and I sold them for £14 + £5.21 postage they were a lot of hassle to deal with for what I made. I kind of felt that it almost was not worth the trouble but they didn’t sit for too long which was the good thing.
Batman Bundle 12” Inch Action Figure Bundle x 6 figures Incl. Superman Aquaman
Paid: £7.50
Sold For: £16.50 + £2.94 Postage
Profit: £6 as I didn’t charge enough for postage.
Something else I was glad to move on. These I bought from someone I know who does house clearances. He done me an amazing deal of Warhammer books, old paperbacks and these figures for £120 I think it was. I paid a bit more than I wanted for these I think £1.50 each and there are more I have as well.
I am still stuck with my all my marvel figures which I will be glad to see go too but at least with this sale it made a bit of a dent. I have made profit which I guess is the main thing but YES I think I was more happy just to move these on hopefully the others I can sell soon to.
HALO MEGA BLOKS 96823 GAUSSHOG VS COVENANT LOCUST 100% w/ Stickers, Box Minifigs
Paid: £30.00
Sold For: £65 + £3.39 Postage
Profit: £35 minus fees
This was a good sale for me. I got this as part of a big Lego buy on Facebook Marketplace, Really, I think I am still in the red on this deal. I paid £190 including the £40 I paid my friend for a lift but I will make my money I’m sure as a few big sets I got to sell.
I am not sure where this ended up but I sold through eBay GSP and it wasn’t long after I listed this that it sold. Maybe only a week Halo Mega Bloks is a good thing to look out for. You might think Mega Bloks is rip off Lego but some of it does sell pretty well.
Bandai – W-Gundam Zero Custom – Mobile Suit XXXG-00W0 – 1/144
Paid: £6.00
Sold For: £10.95 + £2.94
Profit: £4.95 minus fees
This was from another deal that seemed good at the time but now I’m not so sure. I bought 5 or 6 figures like this and I still have 4 of them. Stuff like this I think is pretty cool but with these anime / manga things you have to be careful buying to resell as a lot of things are mass produced and you can buy for very cheap on the Chinese Online Marketplaces (Alibaba etc).
Official Pokémon Psyduck 8” Plush 2017 Tomy
Paid: £1.00
Sold For: £8.00
Profit: £7.00 minus fees
I felt a bit bad for selling this as my Niece wanted it. If it didn’t sell when it did I probably would have let her have it. I will have to look out for another one for her maybe but we’ll see.
Not crazy profit on this item but plush is often a nice little money maker for me. Although, it is a bit annoying the amount of space this stock takes up. But I am sure I make my money paying £1 and selling for £8+ this pays for 7 others lol but its just finding room for them.
Warhammer 40,000 Codex Eldar 3rd Edition 40k Army Rulebook Games Workshop (1999)
Paid: £0.50p
Sold For: £9.95
Profit: £9.45 minus fees
This was in the deal with the Batman figures above. I got a nice selection of books and magazines with this being just one item. This to me is exactly the kind of thing I love to find. I’ve not really delved much into the Warhammer figure side but the books seem to do very well for me.
I’ve still got a nice little pile of Warhammer books left from this deal but it seems to be going down pretty fast. With it I’ve also got 2000 AD, Batman, Star Trek and Star Wars books too. As well as Magazines – I definitely will need to reconnect with this guy soon because what a deal he give me.
Vintage MAMIYA SEKOR-E 1:3.5/135mm Lens(Mamiya E mount) with Case
Paid: £3.00
Sold For: £20.00
Profit: £14.06
OK, so my memory is a bit hazy with this item and where I got it from. It could have been from car boot or charity shop. May have even got in a bundle deal with other items. I can’t remember exactly but I seem to remember paying around £3 for lens like this one at the car boot so let’s go with that.
These are pretty good to buy but I wouldn’t pay too much for one. Possibly I would like to buy for £2-3 for one or 2 for £5, even 3 for £10 – I don’t think they are always good ones like this but they are out there and always worth keeping an eye out for.
Grand Theft Auto V (Microsoft Xbox One, 2014) GTA 5 Xbox One w/ Map & Manual VGC
Paid: £1.00
Sold For: £9.95
Profit: £7.17
GTA games are good pick ups a lot of the time. Either to sell alone or to sell in bundles but before you buy always check if they come complete with maps, and manual.
Also check if the disc is good. Like any video games you don’t want to be selling in poor condition. If you do you have to mention everything. Negative feedback is a killer for the eBay algorithm so be careful.
These are good games to look for though. I would say even if you are only making £2-3 this is OK. It is not always about maximizing profits I think. I personally would rather have low value items sell often then having no activity on my store.
Video games are pretty good for this although some do seem to be pretty worthless. I have hundreds at home but I’m pretty cool with selling xx amount a week.
Plus, sometimes you get some like this one you can almost 10x on. Sometimes EVEN MORE.
The Observer’s Book of Sculpture, William Gaunt 1966. F. Warne HB With DJ
Paid: £0.50p
Sold For: £8.05
Profit: £6.10
I got a lot of these books for £0.50p each. Around 20 of them I bought from a book sale. If you do the maths this is a pretty nice deal. Just selling this one pays for another 12 books. They are not fast sellers but let’s say I make £5 profit on each that is £100 TOTAL. A very nice bit of profit.
Some will sell for less, some will sell for more. The best ones are the car ones I think but also other valuable ones are books that are in good condition and 1st editions.
I think I will have to look out for another bundle of these soon. Plenty of times I’ve seen these and not go them. They aren’t the fastest sellers but turning 50p into £5 is always good business.
3X UNBOXED HP 338 + 343 Black & Tri-Colour Ink Cartridges C8765EE + CC8765EE ABB
Paid: £3
Sold For: £20.95
Profit: -£2.94 postage
This is VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION to share I think. HP, Canon etc, and other Printer Ink is often a good pick up for reselling – if sold at the right price.
Most definitely there is good money to be made but with this in MIND be very careful with what you list for sale. I bought 5 of these Ink cartridges and the expiry date was 2011 and 2012. Over 10 years old.
In my head I thought it would be fine to sell these. Seeing all the YouTube resellers pick up printer Ink I thought finally I’ve found some cheap enough to make a profit on. I paid £1.00 each from the charity shop and these were still unopened. For some daft reason I thought they would probably still work.
They did not. After selling them I was quickly told about this. The buyer although he should have read these were expired still left negative feedback. I fortunately got this revised after I fully refunded him but I basically lost £8 on buying these and having to pay postage to sell these.
It has put me off this market big time. I would maybe try again if Ink is within 5 years of expiry but negative feedbacks are very frustrating because now you only got 3 requests per every 1K feedback and revisions should be used very sparingly for this reason. So I think you have to factor this is a risk 100%.
Real Littles Micro Backpack with 4 Stationery Surprises Brand New
Paid: £0.50p
Sold For: £8.95
Profit: £5.50 minus fees
This was a nice little find on the Tesco’s clearance isle. I’ve picked up a lot of duds here. I’m kind of like once bitten twice shy about buying from Tesco’s to resell but sometimes you can get lucky. I came in here on this day with my 9 year old nephew one evening and they had a load of the Real Littles bags reduced with Wednesday Funko pops and Disney bags (I think also real littles).
I spent £35 altogether. Well over £100 saved and since I have gradually made slow but steady sales like this one. Definitely was a good pick up. Not really been counting how much I am in to the profit with this deal but yes just goes to show sometimes retail arbitrage can be very profitable.
MB Hasbro – 1994 Jigsaw Puzzle – Power Rangers – Approx 200 pieces New Sealed 1994
Paid: £1.00
Sold For: £22.95
Profit: £15.92
I think this was from the first car boot sale I went to this year (2024) when they started up again. This was only £1.00. I was pretty excited to buy this – especially because of the nostalgia of Power Rangers. I used to be obsessed with this TV show so I didn’t think twice about buying this. It took 6 months to sell – which is a pretty long time but considering what I paid and what this went for I think this was pretty good.
I’ve also still got a Yughioh one of these (also sealed) but that might be a sitter I think for even longer.
Paw Patrol Ty Teddy Dogs Plush Soft Toy Bundle Zuma And Rubble Vgc 2015
Paid: £1.00
Sold For: £8.95
Profit: £7.20
These I found at the plush bin at one of my local charity shops. Nice find for 50 p each. Just a shame there wasn’t any more. I am always on the look out for these Paw Patrol plush now.
I got 6 of these for sale at the moment but they are not TY like these ones. The TY ones are the ones you want to look out for. A set of 8 is going for about £60 I think maybe more. My set of 6 I got up for just over £20. Would be closer to £40 if they were TY.
So this was a nice find and definitely a great sale.
Novelty Inflatable Horn Unicorn Shower Cap Mens Womens Adults
Paid: £0.35
Sold For: £5.95 w/ Free Postage
Profit: £3.60 minus fees
I think I got 12 of these in a job lot of random stuff (I wont say crap) but anyway – I got these from a local seller near me on eBay and they dropped off to me as well. My first thoughts on seeing these were What a Load of… but I did get a good laugh out of these.
I even put a picture in my eBay listing of myself wearing one BUT funniest part was I sold all 12 of them and I think this was the last one. Not a lot of profit but still this probably covered the whole £25 I spent on this job lot with all the other stuff.
Samsung BD-F6500 SMART 3D Blu-ray Player – Built-in WiFi, NO REMOTE Tested Works
Paid: £5.00
Sold For: £21.95 + £3.71 Postage
Profit: £11.31
Not really huge profit on this but definitely I will always be happy to pay £5 for a Blu Ray player. This sold within a week of listing I think it was and I sold another Blu Ray Player just as quick not long after. It is better if you have remote but either way they are good things to look out out for.
UK 1080P IP Camera Wireless WIFI Outdoor CCTV HD PTZ Smart Home Security IR Cam
Paid: £1.00
Sold For: £12.00 + £2.94 Postage
Profit: £8.98
This was something I found at the yard sale in my mothers village back in July. You can get these from Alibaba for cheap enough I think but still I sold this within about a week of listing so not bad for £1.00.
Antique Abade Prevost Manon Lescaut Excelsior Hardback Book Italian NOT ENGLISH
Paid: £0.00
Sold For: £5.95 + £2.10 postage
Profit: £4.68
This is something else I got in with the deal for the Batman figures and Warhammer books. My friend said to me “do you want some old books – no extra charge” with this deal. I have only just listed the last few of these but this was a bit of a surprise for me because I didn’t think any of these would sell.
This sold within a couple of days so pretty cool. Although, I do wonder if I will have the same luck with the others. Most are in Portuguese and have listed each one for around £9 so could be more surprises to follow. I’m not sure if I will gravitate too much to items like this in future but I thought this was a good sale.
Antique Vintage Royal Navy Rum Flagon Wicker Encased Ceramic Stone Jar
Paid: £0 (My Mother paid £35 with other stuff in the deal)
Sold For: £55.00
Profit: £47.27 for my Mother (Sold On Consignment)
This probably took about a month to sell after listing it. The deal wasn’t really the best where this come from though in all honesty. Half of the stuff this come with was given away for free, but this sold and I have an old Mrs. Beeton book still to go, Not forgetting another Golly for my mums collection – nice little cherry on top.
Ambrosia Limited Edition Moley the Mole 2022 Plush Soft Toy-prize Toy
Paid: £1.00
Sold For: (£20.00 + £2.94 Postage)
Profit: £15.91
Another great find from the charity shop plush bin. I could not wait to get back here after selling this to see what else they had because THIS sold so quickly. I am pretty sure this was WAY TOO CHEAP now looking at other live listings on both eBay and Vinted but I can’t really complain – £1.00 into £16.00 in 2 days is STILL PRETTY GOOD BUSINESS.
Peanuts 11 Book Lot Charlie Brown Snoopy Charles Schulz Paperback Coronet 1970s
Paid: £3.50
Sold For: £15.95 + £2.69 Postage
Profit: £9.50
I already had one of these books prior to buying the rest of these for £3 at the car boot. A nice find – this sold within about 4 days of listing. Nice sale but actually this wasn’t the best find from this stall – I also got a 1st edition Agatha Christie book here for £1 – these are selling for £850 in good condition. Mine is a bit rough but even £1.00 to £100 if I decide to sell for cheaper is a nice mark up.
14 X Ed Mcbain 87th Precint Paperback Book Bundle Hark Fuzz Axe Lullaby Mischeif
Paid: 14 x £0.33 = £4.62
Sold For: £16.95 + £5.21 postage
Profit: £8.28
This is something I quite often like to do. If I see books by the same author – if there are enough of them there for cheap enough then I will buy them. I will typically buy bundles like this from charity shops and Vinted and keep adding to them and updating my eBay listings as I go on.
It really is kind of an obsession for me. Even to the point that it eats right into my profits but its cool because there are times like this where I do actually make money and I guess it is kind of a hobby.
Q Manual James Bond 007 Role Playing Game 1983 Victory Games RARE VINTAGE BOOK
Paid: £0.33p
Sold For: £19.90 + £2.70 Postage
Profit: £16.28
I think I got this with the Ed Mcbain Books above. If I remember correctly I had 13 books and I had to find 2 more to get 3 for £1.00. This was just sitting there. I think they made a mistake with this price. They could have easily sold for £5 and I would have paid it I think.
I knew when I see this it was a winner. It sold in about 1 week I think and I probably could have sold for more but AGAIN not complaining as this was a great flip.
Bandai Ben 10 Alien Force Creation Chamber 2008 Huge Bundle Over 40 Figures
Paid: £67.50
Sold For: £110.00 + £5.09 Postage
Profit: £26.43
I went way too far with this and spent too much money. It may have been less than £67.50 I paid (possibly more). I bought the first boxed set for £30 from charity shop with only 2 figures. Then I bought more figures from Vinted and then EVEN more from eBay.
I was glad to finally sell it all. Maybe really I should have split this in 2 and made 2 more expensive Bundles but it’s cool – I made money on it and I moved this on which is the main thing.
WW2 photo Frenchmen Accused of Collaboration w/ Nazis Marched Away In Marseilles
Paid: £0.00
Sold For: £6.00 + £1.55 Postage
Profit: £4.51
I got maybe 150 of these photos. Some of these have sold for a lot more than £4.00. I got these after a family friend died. These were all going in the skip apparently. Mad really but yes still have more and they are pretty good sellers. I just need to get round to listing them all again.
Galt Toys Vintage Snakes And Ladders, Family Fun Board Game. Missing 1 Dice
Paid: £0.00 – Free outside one of my neighbours houses
Sold For: £9.95 + £3.71 Postage
Profit: £8.02
This was a nice result. I was walking home from the shop and I see these with a pile of other board games with a sign that said FREE. I think I have sold another for £9.00 (Battleship I think it was) and I still have Hangman and I think Cluedo still to try and sell.
Bit of a pain checking its all there with these games but free money should not be ignored I think. Good on them – I should have knocked and said thank you really but I guess they just wanted gone.
Something to think about in future if anything similar ever happens.
Vintage Toy Soldiers Army Men Figures 70s 80s War Massive Lot Bundle Over 500
Paid: £10 as part of a larger deal.
Sold For: £29.95 + £5.88
Profit: £13.28
This came off my friend who does removals who sold me the Batman figures and Warhammer books. I got this in the deal before. I can’t quite remember everything I got with this. Was some Lego, some Wii Games and some Thomas the Tank Engine Trackmaster bits.
This was I think 1/4 or 1/5 of what I had of the Vintage Toy Soldiers because I divided into equal lots. I honestly, didn’t know these would sell so good but yes they did and if you go to car boot sales and you see lots like this they are worth getting them.
Stat Strip Glu/Ket Glucose Ketones Analyser Tester Meter Nova Biomedical New
Paid: £3.00
Sold For: £20.00 + £2.94 Postage
Profit: £12.51
I was actually surprised this was not taken down by eBay. eBay are very funny about people selling things that are health related. It’s pretty malevolent really (I think) but anyway – so I think I was a bit sneaky here.
I didn’t list as a Blood Glucose tester but as an electric meter I think. It took a while to sell but it did and the profit was pretty good. A typical car boot gem.
Days 240L Mobility Tri Walker 3 Wheel Adjustable Handle Height In Blue
Paid: £15.00
Sold For: £35.00
Profit: £15.06
So, one of the Youtube resellers I watch Jon Shepherd Sells basically is the reason I bought this. He does pretty good off these and wheel chairs from what I can tell. I actually see a Wheel Chair in the charity shop for £40 (I think it was) and I was feeling like I should maybe have got it after watching his videos.
I was telling myself the next day I’ll go back and see if it is still there. It was worth over £100 so it would have been profitable – if only I had the room so many things I have to leave. But anyway this walker was £15 so I bought instead to sell how it goes.
Not great really. It was a nuisance to store after this I had outside my front door in my block of flats for a month. I had to move it when the council complained and by this point I just wanted rid of it.
I do think these are worth getting if you got the room but I would say don’t pay too much because the profits are not always too great considering their size and storing them.
JVC GR-D33EK Mini DV Digital Video Camera Camcorder W/ 2 New Tapes & Lots More!
Paid: £2.00 For Tapes
Sold For: £44.00 + £5.09 Postage
Profit: £18.00 – (Sold On Consignment)
I have sold a couple of these. Yet to get one that doesn’t work but ones I have had working have been good sellers. Don’t sit round for too long and you can get around £40-50 for them.
Probably not good unless you buy for £10 or less and they come with bags. The tapes sell OK too – even if they have previously been recorded.
Jackie Chan Adventures Magazines 1-41 + 2 Specials, Starsign Poster & 220 Cards
Paid: £11.00 (£5 for Magazines & £6 for the cards)
Sold For: £35.00 with Free Postage
Profit: £11.24
I should not have listed this with free postage. It was taking up space and it took a lot of time to go through. Things like this I do really question because all the work involved for £11.00 it was too much I think but I guess it was a cool item to have.
If you see these Jackie Chan Adventures bits – look for magazines with medallions these are worth good money. I only had one medallion in this whole lot -shame really.
But anyway, was glad to move this lot on – it is like the saying goes for resellers – you are not in the storage business you are in the selling business, and don’t I know it.
I think it was good I bought the extra bit. Definitely does the trick if you can’t shift big lots like this.
Oxford Hot Hands Removable Heated Hand Warmers Over-Grips – OF694 Wrap Around
Paid: £2.00
Sold For: £42.73 with Free Postage
Profit: £28.00
So this was something I knew was an absolute steal when I got it. These are a lot more than £2 – I could have probably sold for nearer to £60 but I had this for a bit too long and this was a mistake because I never listed for sale until maybe 1 week before it sold.
It is why I think you need to write everything you buy down and use this as a list so you make sure everything you buy gets listed and not forgotten about. This £42.00 really I could have bought stuff with and flipped it months ago but it is just part of the game, and I am sure many resellers will agree. So now…
How Much Did I Make For September 2024?
Not bad this month. I’ve said to myself I would like to make more money but I am quite happy with months like this. After fees and postage labels bought on eBay I made £1253.26. I think out of this maybe £250 I paid for other shipping costs.
Its about £1K after that and I think I could have sold more – I had my store switched off for 5 days as I was on holiday in Greece for 7 days. I would have actually allowed sales but I messed up with switching on my holiday settings.
So I switched off my holiday settings back on Friday night in Greece with 2 days of my holiday left to go. It was a bit drastic I thought I wanted to keep my holiday settings on for 2 weeks and allow sales the whole time but I felt it was necessary.
It was pretty good because last 2 days of holiday I made about £200. By this point I was starting to run out of money so this was very convenient.
The next month will be very Interesting as no holiday planned as of yet and as of today eBay has announced they are scrapping selling fees on private accounts.
Final Word
So if you are reading this – this will be my 2nd What’s Sold blog on this website. It is November now so this is a bit late but yes so I think I will use this format to summarize my sales at the end of every month.
YouTube is not really for me. I would rather use my time for other things I think but yes I think this will be what I’ll do every month – 1 what’s sold post just like this and 1 recent pick ups blog.
