Love, Honour and eBay is a funny play on words for me. Perhaps you have heard of the 2000 film with Jude Law, and Ray Whinstone (Love, Honour and Obey)? But it is basically what is said at a wedding as part of the vows. I didn’t really think about this at the time – I was thinking of the film, and because I sell on eBay I joked before that this could be a documentary series or something. That’s how I come up with the name in case anyone is interested to know.
So, I’ve been selling on eBay since 2011 – having created my first account back in 2008. My newer eBay account AlxddinsCave is only a few years old but with C86PCCooling my older account I have over 120K sales and 40K Positive Feedback.
I have sold a lot of stuff over the years, and this is a big shock for a lot of people. when I tell them. I mean – to be honest I do wonder if I have run this account / business to the best of my ability. Perhaps it should be a lot more successful already. I don’t really dwell on this too much but there are decisions to make in a lot of cases, You must make sacrifices to reinvest at times.
Keeping products in stock that always sell is a BIG one. Also shipping on time too.
Although, whilst we are talking about my eBay business, still, I think it’s all in my hands and I personally there are things I am doing now that I wasn’t before.
For Instance, I recently just purchased 6 x 85L containers and now have a SKU system in place which should make finding things a WHOLE LOT easier.
I’ve also started this website and another thing I’ve really been thinking about doing is WooCommerce and setting up an eBay to WooCommerce automation to potentially make more sales without paying eBay fees on a WordPress Website.
That’s definitely something that’s in the pipeline. There is also store design, and making my website mobile responsive. It can be difficult when you are not making sales on eBay at times but the trick is to be consistent and where you can to unlock different streams of income so you bare not always reliant on the eBay algorithm.
About This Website
I started blogging properly in December 2019. eBay wasn’t doing good at the time. I was doing drop shipping and it was causing me all sorts of problems and I read that blogging could be a good way to make extra money.
It was pretty insane really because in my first month blogging I made 11 affiliate commissions I think it was. After that I was kind of chasing that for a long time with little to no success but every now and again I’d make another one and another one.
One of my websites I did was about Online Business, Making Money Online and Affiliate Marketing etc. I lost the domain for that earlier this year (2024) and although I had intended to buy a new domain for that I ultimately decided I would have an MMO website that is centred around eBay.
So, I am thinking I will have a section for blog posts about selling on eBay like;

Then I’m thinking I can blog the items I pick up and a summary of what’s sold over the month. I don’t I will write about every sale but maybe a selection of 25-30 sales. Will see how it goes. I’ve actually really struggled to get back into blogging. Google is pretty brutal I had one website that was doing OK and just like that my search traffic completely flatlined.
It is hard when this happens. For 2-3 months I give up blogging wheras before I would publish 1-2 posts a day. So hoping to find that passion again with this website and at the same continue developing my others. I have 3 others beside this;

I would NOT really recommend spinning so many plates at once like this. Really running one website is a lot of work but I guess this gives me the freedom to write about different things and I’m hoping something will ultimately work doing this.

My name is Alex Chivers I am a 38 year old man from Hertfordshire, England UK. I am a full time eBay and Amazon reseller and when I can find the time I like to make blogs just like this. I’ve been Interested in Making Money Online and Entrepreneurship for easily the past 15 years and I hope to use this opportunity to see many places and do lots of things.
My Goals As an eBay Reseller and Blogger etc.
My goal in my head is to make £275 a day which is 100K a year. Becoming a millionaire I think would be a natural progression from that but I’d certainly be happy with just a steady 100K a year. I am happy really now with what I make already most of the time but it isn’t just the money it is nice to find things that sell for a profit.
Clothing I am not very big on. It’s kind of silly because the money I could make here but I just don’t really gravitate towards it, My thing is books, electronics, media (CDs, DVDs, VHS, Video Games), toys, collectables, Lego, and obscure things that I seem to have a knack for flipping for insane profits.
I have had some great sales over the years. Couple days where I have made over £1000. I’ve been doing this a long time and sometimes you just get lucky. Sometimes you can get things for free to sell too. You would not believe what some people look at as junk BUT there is that to you also have to find space.
For me I want to make space for everything. Probably my next big thing would be a shipping container. I’ve seen some available to rent for £15 a week near me but I am not driving so those are all things to think about in the future.
Then there is this making money from blogging. If I can make £1000 a month blogging then I need to ONLY make 88K a year from eBay and there is also Amazon and Vinted – if I made £2000 a month there it’s down to 64K.
I am not sure when I will reach these milestones but this blog will certainly document some of this.
Time will only tell – but enough about me.
